Beginners I is the starting point of your Arabic learning journey, focusing on the essential skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This course is designed to help you confidently engage in basic conversations, greet others, introduce yourself, and describe daily routines. Emphasis is placed on conversational skills to build confidence in real-life situations.
Course Description
Beginners I is an introductory course that teaches everyday conversation for both social and business contexts, along with essential grammar. The course covers all four language skills, with a special emphasis on speaking to ensure effective communication.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of Beginners I, you will be able to:
- Greetings & Cultural Expressions: Greet others using several regional greetings and culture-specific expressions.
- Self-Introduction: Introduce yourself and share information about your occupation, nationality, country of origin, and family.
- Introducing Others: Introduce a third person (friend, colleague, family member, etc.).
- Describing Daily Life: Describe daily life, routines, and plans, such as:
- “I have a meeting tomorrow.”
- “We do not work on Fridays.”
- “I take my children to school in the morning.”
- “We will visit Spain next summer.”
- “I can speak Arabic a little.”
- Expressing Likes and Dislikes: Share preferences like:
- “I love Lebanese food.”
- “I like to travel to Russia.”
- “I do not like traffic.”
- Describing Current States: Express your current state, such as:
- “I am very busy.”
- “I am tired/hungry/happy because….”
- Engaging in Dialogue: Participate in basic conversations and ask/respond to questions like:
- “How long have you been living in the UAE?”
- “Where do you work?”
- “Do you visit your country every year?”
- “How many children does he have?”
- “When is her appointment with the doctor?”
- Inviting Others: Invite people over for coffee, lunch, dinner, etc.
This course will provide you with the foundational skills to communicate confidently in Arabic, whether you’re interacting socially or in a business environment.
